Marketing and Advertising Intern
I decided to differentiate myself from other candidates by applying for an internship in China, considering the alarming graduate unemployment rates and my minimum practical experience. Through CRCC Asia, I applied to work in the field of a Marketing and Advertising and had the opportunity to intern with a company that specialises in corporate training, for one month.
My responsibilities included proofreading training programmes for companies such as BMW and Baker McKenzie, and I also had the opportunity to visit some of the company’s exclusive clientele including Mercedes-Benz. However, my main project was adapting the company’s new website and promoting the company through online advertising.
I believe that completing an internship through CRCC Asia helped me to become a well-rounded person who is knowledgeable in Chinese business culture, Chinese social culture and Chinese history. During my one-month stay in Beijing, CRCC Asia organised great activities such as Mandarin lessons, a welcome banquet and also a visit to the Migrant Children’s Foundation. These events gave me the opportunity not only to bond with the other interns but also to begin to immerse myself in the Chinese way of life.
This undoubtedly memorable experience allowed me to gain in-depth knowledge of the Chinese business culture, as well as respect and appreciation for other cultures. I have greatly enjoyed the diverse experience of working and living in China and have acquired some great life skills that I could not have obtained elsewhere.
