Mike Casey is one of the founding directors of GradConnection. He spent 4 years studying at Victoria University of Wellington, completing a Bachelor of Information Technology majoring in Software Engineering.

While studying Mike took a part time role at the Inland Revenue Department in Wellington. From there he moved into a Java development position before finishing his studies. He then took on a position at a large bank in the Java team. Mike worked at the bank for two years where he gained exposure to the graduate programme and saw an opportunity for improvement in the hiring and development process for graduates.

Mike thinks that one of the keys to filling the gap between graduates and companies is creating a point of contact that is familiar and common to the computer literate generation-Y graduates. His goal is to develop software that enables employers to easily access all the information they need in a graduate before interviewing them as well as assisting graduates with the job hunting process.
